Private beta - launching summer 2026

Music for your
café. small restaurant. bistro. deli. wine bar. cocktail bar. bookshop. hair salon.
Not on the PRS register.

SoundPour is original, royalty-free background music for UK cafés, wine bars and small restaurants, from morning coffee through to last orders. Every track is original work, generated under paid commercial licence, and is not registered with PRS for Music, PPL, or any other collecting society. From £149 a year.

The Library

A collection for every hour,
morning to midnight.

Every SoundPour track is made for the room it'll be played in - a Pennine Sunday morning, a Friday lunch service, a wine-bar evening. Collections for the daytime, and a few that lean into the evening. Pick one for the room, or follow The Curated Day from morning through to evening.

Acoustic

75-90 BPM
Best for: mornings & quiet hours

Fingerpicked guitar, brushed snare, the occasional swell of cello. British folk delicacy without the festival-headliner energy.

Smooth Jazz

85-105 BPM
Best for: lunch service

Parisian café jazz threaded with brushed drums and double bass. For long lunches and the lull just after.

Terrace Sessions

80-95 BPM · Balearic
Best for: late afternoons

Sun-warmed downtempo for terrace tables and slow Sundays. Soft pads, brushed percussion, no urgency.

Chill-Out

70-90 BPM
Best for: gentle background

Sit-back-in-the-corner-booth music. Soft, unhurried, designed to live behind conversation rather than in front of it.

Trip-Hop

75-95 BPM
Best for: late afternoon & early evening

Bristol-school production warmth, downtempo grooves, dusty atmosphere. Slow breakbeats under tape hiss and reverb, made for café floors.

Liquid Hours

85-110 BPM · liquid drum & bass
Best for: evenings

Liquid drum & bass at its most melodic and atmospheric. Warmer and slower than the name suggests - sophisticated rather than energetic.

Halftime Hours

70-85 BPM · downtempo electronic
Best for: any time, really

Slow electronic textures with a half-time pulse. Quiet enough for morning service, deep enough to hold an evening room.

R&B Nights

70-95 BPM · neo-soul
Best for: cocktail hour & late tables

Slow-burn neo-soul - Rhodes chords, elastic sub-bass, the voice used like candlelight. For wine bars and evening service, after the daytime crowd has gone.

Garage Nights

128-138 BPM · UK 2-step
Best for: weekend evenings

Classic UK 2-step garage, shuffled and soulful. Chopped vocal hooks rolling over a warm bassline - for weekend evenings with the lights down low.

Techno Nights

118-124 BPM · melodic techno
Best for: late lounges & after-dark

Melodic, hypnotic and continental. Glass-and-steel after-dark atmosphere for late lounges - never a rave, always a room you'd want to linger in.

★ Recommended for new accounts

The Curated Day

A running order for the whole day, built by ear rather than by algorithm. Soft acoustic in the morning, smooth jazz over lunch, terrace sessions into the late afternoon, halftime or trip-hop for evening service. During the beta you move between them yourself. Automatic switching is the next thing we're building.

☾ For venues open late

The Curated Evening

Where The Curated Day signs off, this takes over. Trip-hop as the lights come down, R&B Nights through cocktail hour, garage lifting the weekend peak, techno carrying the last tables home. The same running order, tuned for rooms that stay open after dark.

The Figures

The two costs,
side by side.

TheMusicLicence rates change every April. These figures are taken straight from PPL PRS's 2026 tariff schedule. Pick what matches your business. What this comparison cannot tell you is whether your venue still needs TheMusicLicence. That depends on every music source in your building, and it is a question for you and PPL PRS.

£

Don't know your exact bill? The typical café pays around £536.96 a year - we've pre-filled that. Change it if you know your real number.

Difference between the two figures
£388

TheMusicLicence for a venue like yours costs £536.96 a year. SoundPour costs £149 in your first year at the early sign-up price, then £249 from year two, a difference of about £288. Whether both of these figures apply to your venue, or only one, is a matter for you and PPL PRS to establish.

How It Works

Three steps. No hardware. No fuss.

If you can play Spotify through your speakers, you can run SoundPour. There's no box to install and no hardware to buy.

Change the mood

Different music for different parts of the day

The Curated Day sets a running order from morning through to evening. During the beta you move between collections yourself, which takes a couple of taps. Music that changes itself is the next thing we're building.

The Offer

One annual fee.
No add-ons.

Sign up in the first year and lock in our early-bird price, then settle into the regular price from year two. Either way you get every collection, the Documentation Pack, and music actually composed for the room.
